About Direct payments
Direct payment are made by the local council. They’re for people who are assessed as needing help from social services, and prefer to arrange their own care and support services. This is instead of receiving them directly from the local council.
Eligibility
Are you aware of Direct payment?. This is where the funding for your service is given to you by your local authority. You can choose who you spend this money with and how it is spent arranging your care delivery in order to achieving your goals
If you already receive social services
Your local council must offer you the option of direct payments in place of the services you currently receive.
If you are not receiving social services
To get direct payments, you need to contact your local council to ask them to assess your needs. To can purchase our services privately.
Why would I want direct payments?
Direct payments allow people to take more control of the decisions which affect their lives. It gives you and your family more flexibility and choice, by enabling people of all ages to purchase care that better suits their individual needs.
If you receive direct payments, you can decide how your needs will be met, by whom and at what time. You are in control. If you have a contract with Regency Community Care we will be accountable for your care delivery not the council.
What can Direct Payments be used for?
- Direct payments can be used to pay for the support you need around everyday living, that gives you independence and choice
- Support with personal things
- Support to remain living in your own home
- Day support to do things that are important to you
